random story i forgot to add today:

at the lake today a co-worker’s girlfriend was sitting on a chair on the beach while an ugly hornbilled goose approached her from behind and to the side. i said to jeff “omg! they get that close to people and they aren’t even scared!” then at the moment where i started slightly freaking out, the ugly ass goose snatched what was left of her churro from her fingers with its beak. she didn’t notice it because i caught her attention by freaking out, she didn’t realize i was freaking out with what was going to happen to her. the thing ended up bitting her fingers. she wasn’t bothered by it as much as me just watching it.

if i were in her position i probably would’ve cried at how close the goose got.

i still shiver when i think about it. DAMN BIRDS.

you would think that a recent college grad would finally have some time to relax, but that isn’t exactly the case here.

my summer is basically packed to the brim, there really isn’t any room for spontaneity. well, a third of it will be spent in the motherland islands, so i must make the most of any time i have left of THE VERY LAST SUMMER OF MY LIFE.

so far…
– my parents almost missed my gradation, but made it 15 minutes before my name was called.
– hit sf, after many months of being away
- my hair stylist talked me into highlights, and i’m glad she did. there’s no platinum blonde this time though.
- kayaked today at lake natoma with the office team & jeff. i hope my arms burn tomorrow from paddling. it was a good day.

this weekend is a big design portfolio review in the city, next is the big grad party. there are still many things to stay on top of.

THIS IS IT….

I AM DONE WITH COLLEGE, and i still have my honors… 3.5+ gpa after six years, its beautiful right?

i’m not sure if i want to cry, scream out loud, or just think about what is happening in my life right now. there are too many emotions involved in all of this, i’m pretty much overwhelmed. in graphic design you just don’t finish… you leave school with a portfolio that represents you and it should be everything you worked so hard for.

my name is catherine reyes and i’m a gphd cum laude college grad with a sickass portfolio. i need a job, so holler.

BY THE WAY….

the biggest congratulations need to go to the man… after all his hard work, sleepless and stressful nights, going the extra miles, etc. etc. HE WON BEST PORTFOLIO AT THE SHOW LAST NIGHT… out of 60+ students who have finished the program this year, his portfolio is number one. HE’S TOP SHIT and he’s mine, and i’m soooooo proud of him…. i always knew he was going to get it, he deserved it and its just beautiful that he is finally getting some official recognition.

i need to thank so many people. this blog will need to be continued….

trying to do san diego in a weekend is ridiculous, but definitely do-able. the kid sister officially graduated on saturday at 8am. try barely getting any rest then waking up at 6am just to hear 1,200 names being called out one after another.

its funny how you can be introduced as being from the bay and then people mention something about the whole hyphy movement. i’m not about all that, but i definitely love where i come from.

why i love sd: food that is good & cheap, friendly people, the weather (except for the past gloomy weekend), the beaches, the views, etc. etc.

don’t forget

i NEVER thought i’d be one of those women who order diet coke.

but here i am 23 years old, buying diet coke from target, and using sweet & low instead of sugar.

what the hell happens to you when you get older???

next thing i know i’ll be adding fiber supplements to my food. wth.
