_ Came home to the south bay,...

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

My Weekend:

_ Came home to the south bay, I was responsible for Thanksgiving dinner, as it is my responsibility every year since I learned how to cook. Ridiculous you think? Maybe, but if my mom cooked we’d be having pancit (Filipino noodle dish) every thanksgiving and dishes of no substance or flavor. I have complained about my mom’s food preferences and cooking abilities here before.
_ Hit Great Mall at 11:30pm to experience the HYSTERIA that is Black Friday. I’ve honestly never done it before, and why not, I really had nothing better to do. So it was full of teens, teens with no money and no where to go. It was also filled with the high school fashionista crowd, who looked like they put on their best clothes and shoes just to go to a mall at midnight. Hey, I’ve been there before, they probably knew they’d run into the guy they liked or the girl they were trying to holler at. BUT, hot damn, fashion back in 1999 was so much more laid back. I can’t imagine trying to keep up with the Jones’ right now, clothes are expensive and trends turn very quickly. That whole subject is a completely different blog though, plus the fact that I mentioned that I was in high school in 1999, and I probably don’t need to remind you that its practically 2009. ANYWAYS…. Black Friday… People cheered as they lifted the gates of H&M and shook them while waiting, HYSTERIA, I tell you. Shit was only 20% off anyway after you were forced to spend $50, not so great, but the hype beats seemed to think so. We finally left there at about 1:45am I got a skirt, which I saved $4. I didn’t go for the savings, I went for the experience.
_ I will go ahead and say that I am the Martha Stewart of my family, I cook the holiday meals, and I decorate the house. On Saturday I went ahead and trimmed the tree and decorated the house, I’m not saying if I didn’t do it someone wouldn’t, but I know everyone expects me to, I don’t really mind, they appreciate the effort. Plus, I know this will make me a great moms one day (NO NOT ANYTIME SOON).
_ We came back home last night to get Jeff a massage for his back because the poor man is all bones already and it doesn’t help when they are crooked or the muscles are all knotted up.
_ Today we met up with some friends to ride our bicicletas in some beautiful fall SF weather, we rode to Ocean Beach to sit on the seawall and watch 20 foot swells which aren’t normal at all (another sign the world is ending you think?).

Jeff’s back to work tomorrow. Luckily I come back Tuesday.

Its Christmastime.

So bored in Milpitas at midnite on a Wednesday…. so I’m off for some 24hr fitness.

Hahaha… I still love you Milpitas.

“Do the right thang” – Ludacris = RIDICULOUSLY GOOD

No. Really.

Not Luda, but my favorite right now:

@ Home in the South Bay

I brought a sleeveless top to wear to our big “family” party tomorrow. I planned on wearing a coat the whole time because it will probably be freezing… and then I realized the “beauty prep” I will have to go through because of the sleeveless-ness of the top (aka de-hairing the armpits). THEN IT CAME TO ME…

“Sh*t. I can’t take my coat off. I HAVE A TATTOO.”

Ohh dear. I will be caught slipping very soon. VERY SOON.

…and you’ll definitely hear about it when I do…

A shakey fourty hour work week...

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

I. am. still. here.

MY LIFE CONSISTS OF:

A shakey fourty hour work week. I work if they need me. I hope they need my ass a lot and for a very long time.
Planning a freaking wedding in paradiso down to every little detail. Its taking over my life, I swurr.
Trying to run, run, run. Commuting from SF to the East Bay and back to and from werk does not leave time for 24 hour fitness.
Trying to understand my self as a person. That sounds ridiculously emo, but I’m trying to understand why people don’t get to know me for who I am. I have figured this is because I’m actually a pretty vulgar and immature little woman with a crap load of opinions. You don’t get this if I don’t know you, so you don’t really get “me.”
Staying afloat in the daily grind, sometimes grey goose helps this. Wah. wah. wah.

Life is great… its crazy warm, and I can’t stand the cold.

Semi-Grown Woman On…

So I’ve been holding down a freelance design job for a week now. It started as a “trial” day and since then its been a “are you free… tomorrow? next week?” type of thing. There’s no contract and no stability at this point. I just can’t mess up. I would like to think I’m done with unemployment, but there is no definitive answer. I will take whatever I can, unemployment rates have gone up again. I got this job through a direct connection, its Jeff’s boss’ old workplace, definitely one of those “its who you know…” type of deals.

F@ck the chickens.

I apologize for those of you who aren’t involved in California politics and have to deal with my crazy posts.

STUPID CALIFORNIA… voted YES on 2, chickens, pigs, and other livestock should have the right to more space and better “living” situations. [They're animals... They're food, f@ck the chickens]. YET, yet… California doesn’t believe in the right of same-sex couples to wed. THE WORLD IS FKING BACKWARDS.

STUPID CATHOLICS. STUPID BIGOTS. STUPID PARENT’S GENERATION.

P.S. Yes, I’m Catholic, by baptism… by communion… by confirmation… but I’ll be damned if the Catholic Church influences me on my decisions. According to them: I’m against a woman’s right to choose/abortion, stem-cell research, euthanasia, and gay marriage.

Fking bigots.

THE WEDDING IS CANCELED.

NO. NO. NOT REALLY.

But… I told Jeff we should wait to get married until same-sex couples have the same rights as a couple of heterosexuals. WHAT A STATEMENT THAT WOULD MAKE. We’re prepared to do it, plus we’re both stubborn and believe in the cause wholeheartedly. BUT we’ve been planning a wedding for the past year and a half. SO… thats not going to fly.

I thought this was 2008. The word “marriage” makes people so damn sensitive.

Damn Baby Boomer generation and uninformed and ignorant voters.

I’m so disappointed, I should have fought for my beliefs harder. Too little, too late now. You win some… You lose some…
