My Weekend:
_ Came home to the south bay, I was responsible for Thanksgiving dinner, as it is my responsibility every year since I learned how to cook. Ridiculous you think? Maybe, but if my mom cooked we’d be having pancit (Filipino noodle dish) every thanksgiving and dishes of no substance or flavor. I have complained about my mom’s food preferences and cooking abilities here before._ Hit Great Mall at 11:30pm to experience the HYSTERIA that is Black Friday. I’ve honestly never done it before, and why not, I really had nothing better to do. So it was full of teens, teens with no money and no where to go. It was also filled with the high school fashionista crowd, who looked like they put on their best clothes and shoes just to go to a mall at midnight. Hey, I’ve been there before, they probably knew they’d run into the guy they liked or the girl they were trying to holler at. BUT, hot damn, fashion back in 1999 was so much more laid back. I can’t imagine trying to keep up with the Jones’ right now, clothes are expensive and trends turn very quickly. That whole subject is a completely different blog though, plus the fact that I mentioned that I was in high school in 1999, and I probably don’t need to remind you that its practically 2009. ANYWAYS…. Black Friday… People cheered as they lifted the gates of H&M and shook them while waiting, HYSTERIA, I tell you. Shit was only 20% off anyway after you were forced to spend $50, not so great, but the hype beats seemed to think so. We finally left there at about 1:45am I got a skirt, which I saved $4. I didn’t go for the savings, I went for the experience.
_ I will go ahead and say that I am the Martha Stewart of my family, I cook the holiday meals, and I decorate the house. On Saturday I went ahead and trimmed the tree and decorated the house, I’m not saying if I didn’t do it someone wouldn’t, but I know everyone expects me to, I don’t really mind, they appreciate the effort. Plus, I know this will make me a great moms one day (NO NOT ANYTIME SOON).
_ We came back home last night to get Jeff a massage for his back because the poor man is all bones already and it doesn’t help when they are crooked or the muscles are all knotted up.
_ Today we met up with some friends to ride our bicicletas in some beautiful fall SF weather, we rode to Ocean Beach to sit on the seawall and watch 20 foot swells which aren’t normal at all (another sign the world is ending you think?). Jeff’s back to work tomorrow. Luckily I come back Tuesday. Its Christmastime.
Is it me, or is the air a whole lot fresher?
