The Hometown
Tuesday, September 29th, 2009Blessed.
Tuesday, September 29th, 2009I’ve said it many times, I am an immigrant to this country, I’m real proud of that fact. Although my life in the Philippines only consisted of a year and a few months, I’m proud of the struggle my parents have overcome and the life they have made for themselves here in America. They came with nothing and started with nothing, just their educations and the hunger to chase the American Dream.
When my Dad got his first text about Typhoon Ondoy, I was right next to him. Oblivious me had no idea it had been raining in the Philippines non-stop for so long. Our hometown was hit hard and lost 10 lives as of Saturday when I left my parents home.
What a trip.
Who knows how our outcomes could have turned out had we not been so fortunate? Had we not had the opportunities to come to America? Had we not be so blessed?
My dad emailed these photos to me. They are absolutely heartbreaking, I waited until I got home from work because I knew how devastating they would be. Unfortunately, I don’t know the source or the location of the photos. These look like the worst of the worst.
I’m lucky to be here. My heart goes out to the Philippines.

Its probably going to be the SECOND-BEST wedding of this year. Cause yes folks, I’ll be honest, ours wins. No. 1. HAHAHA. Still, I’d love to be a guest at the Beasley-Halpert nuptials.
Dear SF Fog,
Sunday, September 20th, 2009I pretty much hate you. You’re cold, dark, dreary and you frizz up my hair. You ruin my weekends. You ruin my tan.

Henn, is it YOUR FAULT?!?
Wednesday, September 16th, 2009HARRY fugging POTTER
Wednesday, September 16th, 2009So for those of you who don’t know… I am in love with the world of Harry Potter. I have openly claimed that Harry Potter is my Star Wars. I have dressed up for movie premieres. I have waited hours and hours for exclusive showings. I run out of theaters every time a trailer comes on, just so I can watch the movie blissfully clear-headed on opening nights. I bought the books asap, rushed home and read them in as little amount of time humanly possible (just so no outside force spoils it for me). I’ve lost sleep over these books and characters. Its definitely a “healthy” obsession for me.
There have been talks of a Harry Potter theme park in Florida for quite some time now, but its really coming to life… and soon!

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009So, I have no idea wtf Taylor Swift sounds like. I cannot name one single song of hers. She is so far removed from anything I listen to… regardless, I got love for T-Swift, the poor thing.
Kanye is once again his outspoken-jackass-self. Its given. Please remember, this fool openly said “George Bush doesn’t care about black people,” during a live-aid telethon for Katrina. It ain’t nothing new. I still respect the music man inside of him, this fool just needs to learn how to chill, and people are so quick to hate. I can’t say I’ll turn away a future Kanye beat/production so I won’t keep hating like the rest of them. I’m not going to write him off, he’s got musical madness in his head, so much more potential–despite the jackass inside.
I swear, sometimes he just talks like he is 9 years old and there are no repercussions for voicing his strong ass opinions at the most inappropriate times. Its almost like he’s socially awkward, like he has a few autistic tendencies even.
