We went down to Pismo Beach/San Luis Obispo for the kid sister’s 24th birthday. Our main objective of the weekend was to ride ATVs around the Oceano Dunes south of Pismo. It took me a whole hour to shake off the rental guy’s scare tactic speech (people break legs doing this, people break arms, people can die doing this) and to finally stop being intimidated by the steep dunes and to finally gun the hell out of my ATV. I must say its a thrilling and addicting experience, the weather was perfect and it was dope having such a large group of 14 to play around with in the sand. I am definitely going to plan another trip come springtime.

Is probably the greatest game in the world (yeah yeah, Scrabble was first, I know), the no. one reason why I now appreciate my iphone so much, and a general confidence booster.

Playing the kid sister, I scored “exile” for 84 points. *Smug face here*

A vacation, all by myself.

_ The kid (by “kid” I mean young-twenty-something) upstairs is a super talented pianist, super talented. Sometimes I just enjoy listening to him play. What he is playing right now is beautiful, it sounds like he’s playing something straight out of a Miyazaki movie score.

_ I would like to blame the steady increase of my infatuation with shoes based on the fact that I work at a beauty company FILLED with stylish young women. [And the fact that I will now voluntarily wear 4" heels, making me 5' 7" tall, wow]

_ Why is everyone on Lookbook.nu bone skinny? Including the men? I want to see more average-looking shapes and sizes on there.

_ I have just purchased two necessary pieces/props for my Halloween costume. I wish I could tell you what exactly the Mr. and I are planning… but its a surprise, and its so much better this way. I will definitely post pictures once Nov. rolls around.

_ NYC in one week.

Saturday night Jeff and I spent the night in my bedroom at my folks house, both of us had dreams we had sex. We thought it would be funny if we really did have unconscious unprotected sex and a baby comes nine months from now.

Just saying…

My maternal grandmother passed away last night in the Philippines due to her frail age and complications from pneumonia, she was 85 years old and a strong-ass leo like myself. Inang actually means “mother” in tagalog but my family has a tendency to call everyone the same thing, despite the generational gaps.

Crazy thing is… my grandpa (atang, as I call him) has no idea his wife has passed. No. Idea. He has been in the U.S. for about a month or so staying at my parents house. They don’t plan on telling him until they get back home to the Philippines for memorial/burial services, for fear of his reaction.

My atang is 92 years old and has outlived his wife. I hope they exchanged a hug, words, or some form of affection before he left the house. He’s practically deaf so communication is minimal when it comes to him.

My heart breaks.
